Supplier speed-date events lay the groundwork for long term cooperation

Aker Offshore Wind hosted several roadshows to meet Norwegian suppliers on behalf of its two Norwegian consortiums to develop floating and fixed-bottom offshore wind in Norway. 

Events have been held in Kristiansand, Stavanger, Haugesund, Bergen, Sandnessjøen and Oslo – to name a few! The turnout has been fantastic and shows great engagement from the supply chain and the belief that offshore wind is a significant opportunity in Norway and for global export. We have continuously been impressed by forward leaning suppliers who are developing smart solutions, a smart mindset and new technology. 

The roadshows have been organized together with Norwegian Offshore Wind cluster and Aker Offshore Wind and Statkraft have been joined by their partners bp and Ocean Winds as representatives of the Sørlige Nordsjø 2 and Utsira Nord partnerships respectively. In addition, the supplier portal Achilles International, the Norwegian export agency Eksfin Norway, and the Federation of Norwegian Industries (Norsk Industri) have participated to provide more information on the possibilities and support available for Norwegian suppliers.
